The 9ZF-400 series machines are mainly used for cutting and grinding stalks of crops such as corn stalks, bean stalks, cotton stalks, grass, twigs, tea stalks, grape stalks and miscellaneous grains such as corn and soybeans. With a finer finish than other feed mills, it is suitable for livestock such as cattle, sheep, horses, deer and rabbits and is mainly used in small and medium-sized farms and households. It can also be used for the pre-treatment production of feed pellets.

When working, the processed material enters the crushing room from the feed hopper, and is broken by the blow of the high speed rotating working parts, and at the same time changes the direction of the material operation. Because the high speed rotating working parts destroy the deposition of the material layer, the material moves with the rotor. In this process, the grass or particles are repeatedly subjected to the collision of working parts and machines and the collision and friction between the particles, so that they are gradually crushed to the material whose geometric diameter is less than the diameter of the sieve hole. Under the action of centrifugal force and air flow, the crushed material passes through the sieve hole and leaks into the powder chamber to discharge from the outlet, and the crushed forage can also be ejected from the high outlet. 

The machine consists of safely cover, 2 feeding hoppers (one grain, one grass), 2/3 outlets (24B and 30 have three outlets), rack, motor, ground wheel (4) and other parts; the workshop consists of main wheel, high carbon steel bearing, triangle blade(10), double-sided circular arc moving knife（3）, hammer blade （16or24or32） and other parts.
